Four suspects arrested on Albertina Sisulu Road

Suspects arrested for alleged attempted housebreaking.

On April 28, four suspects were caught on Albertina Sisulu Road, after an alleged attempted housebreaking.

André Van Zyl from Bhekani Abantu Services described the incident that led to the arrest of four suspects. At 00:45, they were contacted by a client claiming someone was trying to force their back door open, after which their alarm was triggered. Bhekani’s tactical reaction team reacted to the call, as well as other reaction officers, who offered assistance.

On their way to the house, the tactical team passed four possible suspects, and upon arrival at the client’s house were informed the suspects were no longer on the premises, after which they pursued the possible suspects.

The suspects were found on Albertina Sisulu Road, where they allegedly opened fire on the security team. The security returned fire and one suspect was injured. Roodepoort police was contacted for assistance and the four suspects were arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as other equipment that can be used to commit crime”, explained Van Zyl.

The suspects were taken to Roodepoort Police Station. Sergeant Takalani Sibiya, Linden Police Station communication officer, confirmed four suspects were arrested and detained at the Roodepoort Police Station.

“A case of attempted murder was opened at Roodepoort police, and the injured suspect is receiving medical care under police guard at the hospital. Investigation is ongoing.”
