A good life for Lake Lucy Brown

Lake Lucy Brown said her final goodbye.

In 2014 Sarette Vos, joined by members of the community, worked together to rescue a stray dog they later named Lake Lucy Brown.

After seeing the dog around on numerous occasions around Florida Lake the Vos family realised she was pregnant and with it being winter, at the time, they would have to catch her to give the pups a chance at survival. After a few attempts, she was caught. Two weeks later, Lake Lucy Brown, gave birth to nine healthy puppies.

After Lake Lucy Brown was taken in she was naturally traumatised and rather wild, however with care and love she began trusting the people who took her in and opened her heart to them.

All the puppies went to good homes where they were cared for and loved deeply. Each year all the puppies and their owners get together, along with Lake Lucy Brown to celebrate their birthday, which includes a pet-friendly cake and pet treats.

This year, however, Lake Lucy Brown was diagnosed with lung cancer and after numerous treatments, on April 10, she crossed the rainbow bridge.

Sarette stated that Lake Lucy Brown had a good life and was her sister Magdel’s best friend.
