Roodebeeck Cares about GBV

The school took to Dromedaris Street with their posters encouraging motorists to hoot if they are against any type of abuse.

Roodebeeck Primary School held an abuse awareness campaign as part of their Roodebeeck Cares initiative. The learners spent two weeks planning and designing their posters while also learning about the different types of abuse and how to look out for them.

Then on Thursday, March 23, the school took to Dromedaris Street with their posters encouraging motorists to hoot if they are against any type of abuse. Roodebeeck Cares was established in 2021 when the school handed out chocolates to healthcare workers after the pandemic.

The following year they donated 1 700 bottles of water after the floods in KwaZulu-Natal in partnership with the Hope Foundation.

This year the school decided to run a campaign, or program, every term. All 1 150 learners at the school took part in the preparation and 500 children took part on Thursday.
