1st Eagles Cubs join parkrun

The 1st Eagles Cubs ran at the Roodepoort parkrun and cleaned up the park while they were at it.

The 1st Eagles Cubs joined all the other runners at the Roodepoort parkrun on Saturday, March 4. Along with the Pack Scouters and their families, the Cubs ran the race in their purple scout shirts.

The objective was for the scouts to create awareness about scouting. After the race, they continued to look for geocaches and even cleaned up the park during the race.

“Cubs is for girls and boys between the ages of seven and 11, and they learn new skills, play games, go hiking and camping, and enjoy the outdoors. 1st Eagles Cubs meet at our Scout Hall in Witpoortjie on Friday evenings from 18:00 to 20:00,” said Angelique de Jonge, the cub group leader.
