Potholes in Vermooten Street Grobler Park

Residents of Vermooten Street in Grobler Park raised concerns regarding the potholes that practically cover the street.

Tebogo Leburu, a worried resident has lived in Vermooten Street for four years now, and since the day she had moved in the potholes in the street had been a reason for concern and it only got worse as time went by.

According to Leburu, the issue has been reported more than once, yet nothing came of it. Leburu added that the ward councillor is aware of the situation.

The largest and deepest of all the potholes is right in front of their housing complex’s gate and for this reason, they do not use that gate anymore, they have to go around the block to use the second gate.

Leburu had to replace a tyre on her car due to the damage caused by the potholes.

On Tuesday, March 7, Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) came to fix two potholes in the road, yet some of the others were ignored.

Ward 71 councillor René Benjamin referred the Record to JRA for comment, but, by the time of publishing, none has been received.
