Nova Pioneer Ruimsig invites parents to attend class

NPR parents attend Maths lessons.

Nova Pioneer Ruimsig’s parents were treated to a math classroom experience.

“We acknowledged that the Cambridge curriculum is not familiar to most of our parents. There was a hunger to know more about our teaching and learning model. We decided to invite them to join their children in the class and attend a math lesson,” explained NPR School Leader Carla Hercules.

Parents sat alongside their children on the carpet for the introduction of the lessons. They then transitioned to the various interactive center activities.

These activities ranged from blended learning with their Chromebooks to Cambridge Workbooks, games, and even a small teacher-led group.

Parents and students transitioned from one center to another. They even took a quick brain break and participated in a fun song and dance.

“All our parents enjoyed the lessons. They were impressed by the Cambridge Curriculum’s rigorous instructional strategies and high academic standards. Our parents have asked that we continue to offer more opportunities for them to attend class. They were especially pleased by the teacher’s knowledge of the curriculum and ability to engage all students’ learning styles,” added Carla.

“We are very grateful for the support of our parents. They are always willing to attend any event, meeting, or function. We truly value their commitment to their children’s education and our school,” she concluded.
