Titled ‘Off Planet’, Fantasy Fayre 2023 will be a future fest filled with food and drink shared by those mingling with the creatures of distant galaxies. An AlterEgos event would not be the same without their customary dress-up competitions and quizzes so compile your most striking ensemble and ensure your memory banks are aptly configured. All this teleporting between stars will be augmented by delightful diversions, resplendent rewards, live music, and a market.

“Every year, AlterEgos’ Fantasy Fayre has a different theme and flavour and although our roots are steeped in sword and sorcery, we grew up watching Star Trek and Star Wars and falling in love with those worlds. We have always wanted to be on the Away Team; or wander the Mos Eisley market on Tatooine and now we have a chance to do that,” said AlterEgos’ Meryl Rosenberg.

This will be the very first step through the fantasy Stargate so the possibilities are as limited as the secrets of the solar system. Suit up, strap in, set your phasers to awesome, and get down to Rusty Hook on Saturday, March 4 for a journey into the great unknown.

As Meryl notes, “I think in most adults there is still that kid who looked at the stars and wondered about who lived there.”
