Crawford Ruimsig hosts first interhouse athletics of 2023

Some of the Crawfordians broke their previous year records and a few new ones were set.

Crawford International Ruimsig’s Grade 8 to 12 College (high school) learners squashed any Friday the 13th superstitions after enjoying an extremely successful and fun-filled interhouse athletics day held on their sports field.

The energy was spectacular, the weather was beautiful and the spirit was absolutely infectious! The learners participated in everything from long jump, high jump and sprints to hurdles, shot put and even a few teacher races.

The learners enjoyed watching their teachers challenge one another to a sprint to the finish line and excitedly cheered on their favourites!

Some of the Crawfordian broke their previous year records and a few new ones were set. The new Grade 8’s who are now the youngest in the phase really stepped up and participated not only in the events but in spirit too! The vibe was awesome and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The students dressed up according their Houses (Bateleur – Red, Marshall- Blue and Wahlberg – Yellow) and went all out with their outfits, hairdo’s, body paint and props. The walk-in with war cries was truly something to see. It really revved the learners up and they were eager and excited to start the day.

Overall, it was a wonderful day outside of the classroom and an excellent way to spend a Friday the 13th!
