Health clinic welcomes New Year’s babies

Each of these mothers experienced a one-of-a-kind New Year's Day and will never forget the year they were gifted the beautiful gift of life.

As most of Roodepoort was turning over a new page on New Year’s Day, a few expectant mothers started their chapter with a new addition to the family.

According to National Health Department Spokesperson, Foster Mohale a total of 509 babies were born in South Africa on the first day of 2023. Six of these bundles of joy were delivered at the Discoverers Community Health Centre.

“We are happy to announce that all of the babies born on the day are happy and healthy. There were two girls and four boys and we wish them only the best for the year that lies ahead,” Sr Beatrice Nyandeni from the community centre said.

She was also ecstatic to mention that the first baby delivered for the day – a beautiful baby boy – was born at 00:00 sharp.
