A safe space for woman

Samantha's official title is Founder and President, but she is also the organisation's visionary.

Samantha le Roux founded CornerStone Woman (CSW) in 2016 after personally experiencing abuse and domestic violence.

“During this time, I realised that there were no organisations in South Africa that supported middle-to-upper-income women. I discussed the concept of CSW extensively with my close family and friends, and they provided me with the affirmation and courage to launch the organisation,” Samantha expanded.

CSW is a non-profit organisation that helps families recover from the devastating effects of domestic violence and abuse. They want to help everyone, but their brand is geared toward the middle to upper middle class. Fear of judgement and shame has previously caused this demographic to be misunderstood.

“I take a hands-on approach and have direct contact with all of our program’s beneficiaries.”

CSW has been entirely self-funded since its inception. This has only been possible because of her passion and vision for the organisation, as well as the efforts of a number of outstanding volunteers.

“God has been instrumental in the vision and mission of CSW for me. The mandate was that He wants us to resurrect the family structure. As a result, my advice to female entrepreneurs starting a new venture is to ask themselves the most important question: ‘Do you know your why?’ I say this because when the going gets tough, and it will, it’s the why that keeps you going,” she concluded.
