Police celebrate festive season

The event continued until later the evening when it concluded with Carols by Candle Light.

On Sunday, December 4 members from the Roodepoort Police Corporate Communication together with the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch, Community Policing Forum, sector managers, various security companies and other role-players got into the festive spirit with an exciting Christmas Market.

The market is hosted annually at the Ridgegate Centre in Roodekrans and this year was no exception when visitors were welcomed with an array of stalls and of course, some entertainment for the little ones. This included a special visit from Santa Claus, who took the time out of his busy schedule to spend some time with the little ones and take a look at their Christmas letters.

Market-goers also had the opportunity to kick off the month on an active note by participating in a Christmas Fun Walk. The event continued until later the evening when it concluded with some good ol’ Carols by Candle Light.

“This shows the commitments and cohesion between the police and the community working together to make a difference. We trust that the community enjoyed the special event,” Captain Juanita Yorke from the Roodepoort Police’s Communication Office concluded.
