Floroma Old Aged Home hosts’ successful fete

Attendees were treated to a live performance by Lizette van Biljon and Tinus T’laino who delivered sessions that filled the room with soul and rhythm.

Floroma Old Aged Home and Frailcare hosted their Summer Fete on Saturday, November 26 from 9:00 till late in the afternoon and many food and activity stalls were enjoyed.

Members of the community brought along their families and enjoyed an old fashioned, wholesome Fete Day with the residents of the home.

Stalls sold a variety of items including handmade crafts, clothing, flowers, jewellery, Christmas gifts, food and much more.

Attendees were treated to a live performance by Lizette van Biljon and Tinus T’laino who delivered sessions that filled the room with soul and rhythm.

“What a wonderfully blessed day it was, so many smiling faces and the buzz was amazing. A huge thank you to each and every one that supported our fete, we are truly grateful for being able to host events like this once again,” said Social Worker Youlanda Fouché.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) had a mobile unit located just inside the gate where members of the public were given the opportunity to donate blood.

For the first time in many years the fete had a plant stall all thanks to a generous donation by Flower, Seeds and Busy Bees, in Lockies Lane Florida.

“Thank you so much Thelma and Averill, so much gratitude for your generous gesture,” said Youlanda.
