Bus rear-ends another on Ontdekkers
'ER24 and several other services arrived on the scene at 06:59 to find two buses in the left-hand lane.'
This morning, December 1 approximately 70 people were injured when a bus rear-ended another bus on Ontdekkers Road.
“ER24 and several other services arrived on the scene at 06:59 to find two buses in the left-hand lane. Several people were seated inside the buses while numerous more were seated on the side of the road,” Russel Meiring ER24 Communications Officer said.
“Local authorities began to divert traffic while medics tended to the patients. Medics assessed the patients and found that approximately 70 people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.”
The patients were treated and later transported to various hospitals for further care.
The exact details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
