The Lions Club Christmas Market is back

Market-goers can look forward to some good music, a variety of stalls and delicious foods.

The Lions Club of Wilro Park is excited to be hosting their annual pop-up Christmas Market and Queen Butterfly Fun Run.

The event is expected to take place on Saturday, November 26 at the Lions’ clubhouse located at 16 Belladona Street, Wilro Park. Market-goers can look forward to some good music, a variety of stalls and delicious foods.

According to Past President, Sandy van Heerden there will also be a cake and coffee shop, tombola table and a kids corner to entertain the little ones.

Although entry to the pop-up charity shop is free, visitors are asked to donate a tin of food, treat or toy to Claw who will be represented on the day.

“Our Molly’s Angels will also be available for visitors to hang on our Christmas tree and those who helped create the Lions Peace posters can also look forward the exhibition thereof,” Sandy said.

The Queen Butterfly Fun Run is expected to start around 07:00, and those wanting to participate is asked to gather at the club a little while before the time.

If markets and fun runs aren’t really your thing, but you love Christmas Cakes, you can still support the club in another way by purchasing one of the Lions Club’s well-known Christmas cakes, you are helping to improve the lives of people across South African communities.

Since 1975, Lions Clubs throughout South Africa have sold Lions Christmas Cakes to raise funds to finance projects in their communities. Although the cakes will be available at the market for R150 (1kg), supporters can also contact the club to arrange an order.
