A simple gesture of kindness can go a long way

"Fighting cancer is hard and a small gift could mean so much just knowing that someone thought of you."

Breast cancer fighter, Margaux Needham recently finished her radiation treatments and decided to “bring a small bit of joy” to her fellow cancer warriors.

“Fighting cancer is hard and a small gift could mean so much just knowing that someone thought of you,” elaborated Margaux.

She made 60 gift bags filled with goodies which she gave out to chemo and radiation patients at Pinehaven’s Oncology Unit. The bags had things like lip balm, tissues, lipstick and hand sanitisers inside.

“Cosmetix donated items as well as three of my friends; Linda Seagreen, Christine Smith and Trish Thompson,” added Margaux.

“Doctors, specialists, nurses, hospitals, surgeries, waiting rooms, blood tests, collapsed veins, scans, radiation planning, and infections have dominated the last few months of my life. It feels like I’m on the fastest merry-go-round, and it doesn’t even slow down to let me catch my breath,” explained Margaux, as she handed out the gift bags to her fellow breast cancer fighters.
