Cancer survivors invite you to awareness run

Participants can look forward to an exciting 5km fun run with some interesting vendors and stalls to browse through on the day.

Warriors with a Purpose is excited to be hosting their second annual Cancer Awareness Colour Run.

According to Warriors with a Purpose founder, Renée – better known as Ney – Singh, participants can look forward to an exciting 5km fun run with some interesting vendors and stalls to browse through on the day.

“We would like to invite the community to come and support our fundraising project. We hope to not only raise some much needed funds for the cause, but also just to create some more awareness. It’s absolutely crucial for the community to know about the symptoms, early detection and self examination tests,” Ney, who is a breast cancer survivor herself, said.

The Colour Run will take place on Saturday, October 29 at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Ruimsig from 10:00 until 15:00.

The costs are as follows:
Adults: R140
Pensioners: R100
Children (aged 12-18): R90
Children (aged 6-12): R60
Children under 6: Free

Ney would also like to invite all the participants to the after party which will take place at the Dance Cafe in Florida. Those who won’t be able to make the colour run or who feel like running or walking isn’t necessarily their thing, can also still contribute to the cause.

“Community members can still make an immense impact by supporting our pink bra project, which is mostly run by the beautiful Mrs South Africa Finalist and breast cancer survivor, Tasnim Young-Norris,” she said

“We would like to ask the community to donate a new pink bra toward the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital Oncology Unit in support of breast cancer.”

For more information and tickets, feel free to contact Ney on 064 684 7915, or if you would like to donate a bra Tasnim can be contacted on 079 497 0326.
