“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” – Anatole France.

Roo Kruger, who lives in Strubens Valley, has asked the community for assistance in locating her missing Peach Fronted Conure, Gryffin. Gryffin is a cheeky green, orange, and blue bird who went missing on October 13 around noon. Roo, his owner, explained that she saw him that Thursday afternoon around 14:30 in a tree across from her house “looking happy as can be, stretching and cleaning himself,” but he flew away as soon as they got a net in the tree.

Gryffin went missing on October 13.

He hasn’t been seen by his owners since. “We checked the green belt behind my house, Struben’s Valley, parts of Wilgeheuwel and Weltevreden Park, and I’ve put up flyers and posted on social media every single day with an update on multiple groups,” Roo added.
Gryffin is three different types of green with orange and blue on his head, he answers with wolf whistles, kissing noises and says “right now”.

Roo urges the community to help her find her beloved pet, Gryffin.

“The little monster was apparently heard around noon on Monday in Allen’s Nek, across the road from the vet,” Roo said.
Roo has requested that residents of Allen’s Nek and surrounding areas keep an eye out for her beloved bird, saying, “I’m praying we get him home before this rain comes.”

Roo also mentioned that if anyone has time to go outside and look for Gryffin, she can send the wolf whistle recording she has. Roo has also offered a R1 000 reward to anyone who can help her reunite with her beloved pet.

If anyone has seen Gryffin on his wild adventure, please contact Roo on 0827049074.
