Service delivery issues escalating after rejected proposal

Indifferences between the ruling coalition party of Ward 127 rejected the proposal for adequate service delivery following a council meeting – residents are unhappy and demand urgent intervention.

Following a rejected service delivery proposal at a council meeting on November 1 for basic services to be delivered to Matholesville residents, ActionSA JHB Caucus met with residents on November 3 hoping to find a solution.

Led by caucus leader Nobuhle Mthembu and constituency Clr Lwanda Bini, Clr Themba Mabunda and Clr Vhengani Munyai, they met with residents of Matholesville Ext 4 to address and report back to the community about the outcome of the motion.

“While we were doing oversights and walkabouts with the community, ActionSA promised the community that they will keep on fighting until the ANC and EFF will bring the motion back – we are going to support it,” Bini said and continued to say that they will officially file a complaint against the municipality at the human rights and Johannesburg Ombudsman.

In response to this, Siyabonga Masiza, chairperson of ANC Zone 5 and member of the parliamentary constituency office of Roodepoort, said that they are aware of the issues experienced in this ward and both provincial and local government are doing their level best to address these challenges and ensure fruitful resolutions.
