Drive-by shooting claims life in Florida
Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for gunmen who shot and killed a man in Florida who is suspected to be linked to taxi violence.
Police have launched a manhunt for suspects who killed a man in a drive-by shooting earlier today, September 15.
This shooting took place at the intersection of Constantia and William Nicol Drive near 14th Avenue bridge.
According to a statement sent to the Roodepoort Record by Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the incident occurred when the man, accompanied by his wife, was targeted by gunmen driving a white vehicle.
He said the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife was grazed by a bullet.
The motive behind the killing is currently unclear but authorities suspect it may be linked to taxi violence, as the deceased was reportedly a member of a taxi association.
Investigations are still ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist.
