A beautiful sunny afternoon turned dreadful after residents noticed a man’s body in a park.
A man was killed by his wife on Saturday afternoon, March 2 after an alleged altercation took place in Discovery.
According to the deceased’s neighbour, Zak Jonker, the couple was spotted by painters who were painting a house nearby, sitting in Florida Rose Park and drinking.
Jonker says the painters witnessed the pair arguing. Thereafter, they saw the wife rush to the house to grab a knife from the kitchen and mercilessly stab the man in the neck.
“Two men called me for help when they saw the man lying in a pool of his blood. After frantically calling for help, the woman told me her husband was cheating on her and later said it was either him or her,” says Jonker.
The man was dead before the ambulance arrived on the scene.
The Roodepoort Record contacted Sergeant Kholo, the District Communications Officer, who confirmed the arrest of the woman who is currently detained at Florida Police Station.
