WATCH: DA ward committee member pulls gun during public meeting

Video footage of DA Ward 97 committee member Julia Griffiths pulling a firearm during a public meeting has emerged.

The video does not show the entire incident, but it does show Griffiths wielding a firearm during a confrontation with Willowbrook, Ruimsig, Amarosa and Poortview Residents’ Association chair, Martin van der Westhuizen.

The incident occurred during a Ward 97 meeting called by DA councillor Jacques Hoon to update the community on issues of electricity challenges within the ward.
