Festive Season Operation yields many results
Seven arrests were made and 13 fines issued during police operation.
The number of offences discovered during the Festive Season Operation, which took place on January 3, was revealed in a statement made by Florida police.
Two suspects were arrested for possession of drugs and illegal immigration, and a total of 133 zip-lock bags were retrieved containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be crystal meth. Five more arrests were made of which three were for assault, one for armed robbery, and one for theft.
JMPD Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) issued fines to the value of R8 250 for offences ranging from not stopping at stop signs to failure to provide/ renewed licence discs. A total of 40 persons and 32 vehicles were searched in the stop-and-search operation.
