Five motorcycle thieves on the prowl

Four thieves entered the property, while one stayed in the Quantum in the early hours of this morning and loaded a motorcycle into the minibus.

Following a motorcycle theft incident on Christiaan De Wet Road in the early hours of October 25, the rate of crime in the area has been cited by residents as ‘alarming’.

According to a statement issued by a private security company, it is believed that around 02:44, an alarm signal from its client at 5 Christiaan De Wet Road was received when five thieves in a white Toyota Quantum gained access to the premises by removing three wooden planks in the palisade gate, bending the gate rail to open it.

Four suspects entered the premises while one stayed in the Quantum to keep a lookout.

The four suspects then forced the garage door open damaging all the panels and pushed the motorcycle outside loading it into the Quantum.

“Our client confirmed that a laptop was also missing as it was in the cases of the motorcycle,” the media statement read.

The police had not yet arrived at the time of the incident, but the security company urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities in the area.
