Head of Nova Pioneer Ruimsig shares Christmas wishes

Carla Hercules, head of school at Nova Pioneer Ruimsig, shares her wishes with her schooling community.

Carla Hercules from Nova Pioneer Ruimsig writes:

“As I reflect on this year, words like teamwork, relationships, and collaboration come to mind. I feel overwhelmed with appreciation for the many blessings bestowed on our school.

We opened the year with new teachers who embraced Nova Pioneer’s high expectations of teammates. They echoed my own vision for this school, which was to create positive relationships among colleagues, parents, and students, as well as to live out our cultural principle of Greater Together. We accomplished everything as a team in the spirit of becoming greater together and sustaining a strong team culture.

We set out to create a welcoming, supportive, and cheerful learning environment for children, staff, and families in January. Additionally, we wanted to establish a healthy school culture and climate.

I am excited and proud that we realised this goal, as reflected in our parent, student, and staff survey results. I hope that we maintain this precedent in the years to come as we continue to grow.

This year, we also excitedly welcomed new students to our school. They settled in very quickly and adjusted to the new learning model and school culture. Our students have grown academically, emotionally, and socially throughout the year, and we look forward to their continued development in 2024.

We hosted many entertaining and engaging parent-child events, including movie nights, sports festivals, family fun days, classroom experiences for parents, and numerous other activities. We had an excellent opportunity to get to know our parents and establish a strong relationship. These events were fun and enjoyed by all; however, the highlights were definitely the Movie under Stars event and our Heritage Day Festival of Foods. Parents and teachers enjoyed an assortment of traditional cuisine.

I look forward to 2024 with hope and excitement as we create more opportunities for competitive sporting activities, maintain our academic excellence, and foster collaborative relationships with the wider community.

We are delighted to commence construction on our high school in 2024, with plans to launch and open in 2025.

On behalf of the staff of Nova Pioneer Ruimsig, I would like to wish you all a blessed and safe festive season.”
