Four suspects arrested on Albertina Sisulu Road while fleeing alleged crime scene

The four were arrested for alleged attempted housebreaking.

Four suspects received their comeuppance after they were caught on Albertina Sisulu Road after an alleged attempted housebreaking on April 28.

Andre van Zyl from Bhekani Abantu Services described the incident that lead to the arrest of the suspects. At 00:45 Bhekani Abantu Services was contacted by a client claiming someone was trying to force their back door open, after which their alarm was triggered. Bhekani Abantu Services’ Tactical Reaction Team reacted to the call, as well as other reaction officers, who offered assistance.

On their way to the house, the team passed four possible suspects and upon arrival at the client’s house were informed the suspects were no longer on the premises, after which they pursued the suspects.

The suspects were found on Albertina Sisulu Road, where they allegedly opened fire on the security team. The team returned fire and one suspect was injured.
Roodepoort Police were contacted for assistance and the four suspects were arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as other equipment that can be used to commit crime.

The suspects were detained at the Roodepoort police Station.
