A donation of stationery items was made by a local church, Ridgecrest Family Church, to a local baby shelter, Lighthouse Baby Shelter.

Deborah Wollnik went to the Lighthouse Baby Shelter as a congregant/ volunteer of Ridgecrest Family Church to hand over gift packs of stationery as well as toiletries the church collected at their Reindeer Run. This was done as a way to say thank you to the wonderfully talented children who blessed Ridgecrest’s congregation on their Christmas Carol night with songs they composed.

“In these trying times that we as a country are going through it is our belief at Ridgecrest Family Church that we do not as a community lose hope. But in the spirit of love, devotion, and truth must joyfully endeavor to reach out to our fellowman, encouraging one another, and serving the less fortunate in whatever we can, by sharing and giving to those in need. This is sure to lift the spirits and forge an attitude of hope in their hour of need,” explained Deborah Wollnik, from Ridgecrest Family Church.

Ridgecrest Family Church is led by Pastor Ezra Karuppan, who has a shepherd’s heart not only for the sheep in his congregation but also for the needs of the community at large, regardless of age. Ridgecrest Family Church’s approach ensures ministries for people of all ages in the communities of Radiokop, Allens Nek, Struben’s Valley, Little Falls, Constantia Kloof, and Honeydew Ridge.

“Ridgecrest Family Church has recently partnered with “Lighthouse Baby Shelter,” one of the most recent community outreach organisations. This is who we will be concentrating on today. Eleanor Dustan founded The Lighthouse Baby Shelter in 2008 to care for unwanted, abused, and abandoned babies and children, and it is entirely funded by public donations. Please share and contribute to this wonderful organisation.

Ridgecrest Family Church is passionate about connecting with the community for these very reasons, as it teaches us the importance of helping those in need, those who are less fortunate than us. Community service is important because it connects us to the community by improving it and making it a better place for all of us to live.

The Lighthouse Baby Shelter Children’s Choir was invited to perform two songs they wrote as a surprise for the congregation.

Ridgecrest Family Church is grateful to be able to hand over the individual gift packs made up for these remarkably talented children who blessed our congregation with their wonderful angelic singing in the spirit of the Lord’s love.
