Expect delays on N14 after light aircraft crash

Expect heavier-than-usual traffic on the N14 towards Diepsloot/ Centurion as the scene of a light aircraft crash in the Knoppieslaagte area adjacent to the N14 is causing traffic delays.

According to Emer-G-Med, just after 08:00 this morning, February 15, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene of a light aircraft crash in the Knoppieslaagte area adjacent to the N14.

“On arrival on the scene, a light fixed-wing aircraft was found to have crashed into a river. The pilot who was the only occupant of the aircraft was declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” Emer-G-Med stated in their report.

“The scene was secured and handed over to the police and Civil Aviation Authorities for further investigation and processing,” concluded the report.

Motorists are cautioned to find other routes of travel as the road is still closed due to the accident.
