The King’s School West Rand: Letter from the Principal

May you know this good news of great joy this year, experiencing the deep lasting satisfaction of Jesus' love towards you regardless of who you are or whether you consider yourself worthy of His love or not. He loves first.

Poortview — Ken Langley, principal at The King’s School West Rand writes:

It’s almost Christmas time again! I have so many fond family memories of this time, growing up in a household where we celebrated Christmas with decorations, lights, candles, Christmas trees, and carols music in the background.

Half the fun of the season was in the anticipation. Looking forward with excitement to Christmas Day when unwrapping gifts with the extended family, and a special meal with beloved others was seasoned with laughter and games.

We also remembered ‘the reason for the season’, the birth of Jesus into the world to live among humanity and eventually to die on a cross so that we could have eternal life with Him.

Still today it never ceases to be good news to all of mankind. “Do not be afraid! Behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people” said the angel to the shepherds.

Christianity is the only religion in the world where the God of the universe comes down to dwell with humanity in our mess, gets rejected by the religious leaders of the time and still goes on to offer His life as a sacrifice so that we could have the gift of life and live abundantly. Theologians call it “The Great Exchange”.

May you know this good news of great joy this year, experiencing the deep lasting satisfaction of Jesus’ love towards you regardless of who you are or whether you consider yourself worthy of His love or not. He loves first.

Happy Christmas to you and your beloved. God is near.
