Panorama Primary School’s 10 brightest boffins took part in this year Gauteng Department of Education Olympiad. Competing across three rounds of mentally testing Mathematics and Natural Science exams, the collection of Grade 3s to 7s did not disappoint, representing the school proudly.

Her fellow schoolmates would fall at various rounds of the competition but Grade 5 learner Khuthadzo Mathagu was the best performer for Panorama. Khuthadzo placed sixth overall in Gauteng in the Mathematics section at the provincial round held in the first week of September.

A delighted acting Principal, Mrs Olive Siminya, gave a rousing praise of her learners and lauded them and their educators for their hard work.

“It makes me very proud of what the school is achieving. These kids are an inspiration to everyone and I thank them for staying focused. These learners and their teacher get up every morning motivated to fulfil our school’s motto of ‘nothing less than our best’.”

That credo has stood with the school since their founding and Mrs Siminya believes that success can trickle down through the rest of the learner body.

Challenging all to reach higher, Mrs Siminya said, “It is really fulfilling to see the kids achieving and it is hoped their success can inspire their classmates to greater accomplishments”.
