A life in the service of others is a life well spent. The Roodepoort community is saddened by the tragic passing of Dowry Security Officer, Lawrence Nakedi.
According to Wayne Smith – Dowry spokesperson – Lawrence sadly lost his life while on duty on Wednesday, September 21 in the Wilropark/ Horison View area.
“The cause of the incident is still unclear and under investigation. Dowry would like to take this time to pay an enormous amount of respect and gratitude to Lawrence for his dedication and commitment to the community he had served and protected over his years of service at Dowry,” Wayne said.
He went on to say that Lawrence had always presented the upmost dedication to his work and loved protecting the communities he had grown to know and love. The fallen hero leaves behind his loving mother, wife and two daughters.
Due to the nature of the incident a temporary fund has been set up for Lawrence’s family during this tough time.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends and close affiliates of our brave warrior. We would also like to thank all community members for the support, prayers and condolences shown to the family and friends of Lawrence Nakedi,” Wayne said.
