Tracey Christie, a local animal lover, has asked the community to help her raise funds to support one of her absolute favourite rescues in Ruimsig, Rest Ur Ass Donkey Sanctuary.
“I’ll be running my first marathon in seven weeks and would love to use the opportunity to raise funds and public awareness for RUA,” explained Tracey.
There are 120 rescued souls who require ongoing care and carrots – Donkey Lewis requested that carrots be included.
You can fly one or more of Tracey’s beloved RUA donkeys to her marathon in Cape Town virtually, simply by choosing your favourite donkey or by requesting that she send you a list of the donkeys who still require a ticket.
There will be three primary methods of ‘flying’ the donkeys: R200 for a first-class ticket; business class costs R150; while economy class costs R100.
The funds will begin to accumulate. If each donkey received at least one economy ticket, R12 000 would be raised for the sanctuary’s new fencing.
There is strength in numbers. Alone, we can accomplish little, but together, we can move mountains! The sponsors have the chance of winning a fantastic prize.
