Each brick cemented and every screw driven build brighter partnerships and pathways.
Celebrating the beginning of a new chapter, Avalon Private School embraced the ideas of construction on August 26. The future-focused shapers of bright minds held a Digger Day where learners and staff threw on the high-visibility jackets and hard hats for a day of constructive learning fun.
As a token of the school’s ambitious growth, staff and learners participated in a tree-planting ceremony to mark the occasion.
“It is a very special day for us that marks the beginning of a exciting partnership. Myself, the staff and learners are very excited for the future,” said Principal Ashlynn de Bruyn.
The teaching style promoted by Avalon Private School is centred on a tactile learning model that provides an immersive learning experience. On Digger Day, teachers ran mini-workshops at construction-themed workbenches which featured tower building, 3D modelling, painting, structural design and various other activities that stimulate the mind.
The school was purchased recently by Thrive Investment Managers and the Digger Day was a theme shared by Avalon’s Tres Jolie branch as well the regional flagship school, Skye College. The Thrive brand hopes to elevate the youth entrusted to them by laying strong educational foundations that serve as a robust platform for their growth.
