Ward 85 councillor, Zoné Hughes is pleased to announce that after months of correspondence with the JRA and Joburg Water regarding the reinstatements on Galena Road, it has finally been attended to on Tuesday, August 23.
“This is a big achievement for our ward and area. I am hoping that more can be done in the weeks and months to come,” she said.
According to Hughes the road had been an issue for motorists and residents since water pipes had burst in the first week of May.
“Since 10 days after the leak I made sure to follow up on a weekly basis. I also made sure to come in contact with both the MMC for Transport and EISD. On behalf of the community, I would like to thank the relevant departments for restoring this piece of road,” she concluded.
