On Thursday, August 11 Ward 71 Councillor Rene Benjamin issued a notice for the supplementary elections of the Ward 71 Committee that will be held on Saturday, August 13.
The supplementary elections will be held from 09:00 to 10:00 at Hoërskool Die Adelaar which is on the corner of South and Vermooten Roads in Princess.
The agenda:
1. Verification and registration of voters
2. Voting process explained
3. Call for nomination
4. Voting process starts
5. Counting of votes
6. Results are verified and announced
The sector to be contested is Transport.
Nominees must be:
• A South African citizen (18 years or older)
• A registered voter in Ward 71
• Not indebted to the municipality, or must have an arrears arrangement in place
• Nominee must not be in the employ of CoJ
For verification purposes all attendees must produce an ID book/ smart card ID (no photocopies will be accepted)
NB: Supplementary elections are run by ward governance officials.
“Please note that the Transport Portfolio is still vacant, and the supplementary election will be held for this,’’ Councillor Benjamin said.
