Dancing for a special cause

This special little girl dreams of being healthy enough to be able to dance and play with her friends once again.

One special little girl’s cause recently brought communities together when an exhilarating fundraising event was hosted in her honour.

Grade R St Catherine’s Convent School learner, Takatso Lesiba was diagnosed with leukaemia AML in February this year and has been in and out of hospital since then. Although she has undergone chemotherapy and blood transfusions she is still in need of a bone marrow/ stem cell transplant.

While no suitable donor has been found in South Africa, two international donors had been located. This has proven to be exceptionally expensive as the transplant won’t be covered by their medical aid.

Since this bubbly five-year-old loves dancing, her school, together with B to Z Dance Fitness Dance Studio hosted a fun and inclusive Zumba morning in efforts of raising funds for Takatso’s bone marrow transplant.

Takatso has not been to school since February and misses her school and Designed to Dance Studio families dearly. This special little girl dreams of being healthy enough to dance and play with her friends once again.

“On behalf of From B to Z Dance Fitness, we are so happy to have been a part of the fundraiser for little Takatso. We hope the funds raised will bring her a step closer to being a happy, healthy little girl once again. She truly deserves all the help, love and support she can get,” Bronwyn Paveley, Aletha van der Westhuizen, Iria da Silva and Mandy Beukes from the dance studio concluded.
