One arrested after drug lab discovery in Florida

During the search at said premises a narcotics manufacturing venue was discovered, and also finished products and other narcotics.

On Tuesday, July 26 a multi-disciplinary operation led by the Head Office’s Organised Crime Narcotics Unit resulted in the discovery of a drug manufacturing laboratory and the arrest of a 44-year-old woman in Florida.

According to police reports, dried magic mushrooms, capsules containing magic mushroom powder, crystal meth and cannabis oil were also found at the suspect’s premises.

Florida police station’s spokesperson Colonel Amos Tsotetsi confirmed the arrest and the discovery of the items that are valued at over R1.5 million.

The suspect will appear before the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, July 28 on a charge of manufacturing, dealing in as well as possession of narcotics.

During the search at said premises a narcotics manufacturing venue was discovered, and also finished products and other narcotics.

The narcotics that were found were 5kg dried magic mushrooms (valued at R200 per gram), 100 capsules containing magic mushrooms powder (valued at R50 per capsule), 5g crystal meth (valued at R200 per gram) and 40ml cannabis oil (valued at R100 per ml).
