Champion bodybuilder turning heads with grace, style and physique

Cailyn Lewis is crushing the competition with an unbeaten run in Beach Bikini category.

In the pursuit of flawlessness, external results are the product of inner strength.

Blazing a trail in the bodybuilding world is 21-year-old Cailyn Lewis. Deciding to take up the sport at the beginning of 2021, Cailyn’s first competition was in August that year and she has been almost unstoppable since. Coached by Stephany Delatour and competing in the Fitness Bikini and Fit Model categories, Cailyn has earned nine gold medals and four overall title wins in the six competitions she has entered.

Undefeated in the Beach Bikini category, her growing list of accolades include gold medals at Sunfest in 2021 and 2022, as well as gold medals at the provincial and national championships. Cailyn went back to back at the 2022 Arnold Classic Africa, adding another gold medal to the one she earned in 2021. “Arnold 2022 was absolutely amazing. Seeing athletes from around the world stepping on the same stage to do what we all love was so special. The venue was also absolutely stunning and the whole atmosphere was something I’ve never experienced before,” recalled Cailyn.

Competing under the Hoonsquad banner, her daily routine is both strict and rewarding. She is up at 4:00 and in the gym by 5:00 for two hours of cardio and weight training before going off to her two jobs. Cailyn is a lifestyle fitness coach who mentors clients in the morning before her afternoon role as a preschool aftercare teacher. Not done, she still finds time to cram in some study time for her Health and Fitness Professionals Association course. Her evenings are for meal preparation and dinner before bed around 21:00.

Cailyn draws inspiration from multiple sources but all the determination comes from within. “I’m the type of person that if I decide I’m going to do something I will give that goal absolutely everything because if I cheat on my diet or slack off in training, I’m only disappointing myself. I’m inspired by my other teammates in Hoonsquad because we all support each other and motivate one another even though bodybuilding isn’t a team sport. I’m also inspired by the unknown because the world is what you make of it!” said Cailyn.

Her fellow female athletes are her role models but Cailyn is fast becoming one herself. “My advice to young women wanting to start their bodybuilding career is to go into it wholeheartedly. Don’t doubt yourself, and commit to the process 110%. Allow yourself time to grow and don’t let small obstacles get in the way of your dreams,” urged Cailyn. Motivating others never to give up, Cailyn said, “Keep your head up, carry on working. There’s always more shows, more opportunities to shine. You are your biggest obstacle.”
