Grobler Park resident wins brand-new wheels

“It’s like a dream come true; this is basically the end of my car problems and I will be using this new car for everyday driving as well as for attending interviews."

Grobler Park resident Rudolph Ramaboea couldn’t believe his luck when he was named the winner of one of the four brand-new Polo Vivos up for grabs from the Engen Wimpy ‘Eat Win Ride’ Campaign.

The 32-year-old Rudolph collected his first brand-new vehicle from the Engen Wimpy Tahero in Witpoortjie on Monday, June 13 after being selected randomly as the lucky winner.

Rudolph told the Record that he has had car troubles lately and this could not have come at a more perfect time.

“It’s like a dream come true; this is basically the end of my car problems and I will be using this new car for everyday driving as well as for attending interviews.

“I’m a recent graduate so interviews are on the cards for now and it will be much easier to move around,” said Rudolph.

Engen Wimpy launched its ‘Eat Win Ride’ campaign on March 1 and it ran until May 31. In the end four lucky winners were chosen from around the country.

“All that consumers had to do was spend R100 or more at any Engen Wimpy nationally in order to enter the competition and they could win one of four Polo Vivos.

“They could enter automatically by paying their bill via the Wimpy Rewards app, or by dialling a USSD.

“The more they visited Engen Wimpy and spent over R100, the greater their chances of winning became.

“Our first winner was from Ennerdale, Johannesburg South; the second winner was from Newcastle, KZN; the third winner from Roodepoort; and our fourth winner is from Cape Town,” said Wimpy Brand Manager Jodi Law.

According to Thabo Tswai who is the Engen Convenience Operations Specialist, this will actually strengthen their relationship with their customers.

“I wish the winning customer all the best, a safe trip back home and that he may enjoy the car,” said Thabo.
