he King’s School West Rand hosted English Premier League Football coaches from AFC Bournemouth based in Bournemouth in the UK at their school on Friday, May 27. The coaches participated in a soccer clinic for 60 high school boys and 20 high school girls.
The objective of this clinic was to help the soccer players develop their soccer and teamwork skills. They also taught the players a bit more about the game.
The King’s School learners were eager to learn from the pros and had fun warming up. They had the opportunity to rotate and work with each top-level UK coach as a team to learn different techniques. This gave them time to absorb all the tips and tricks each coach had to offer.
AFC Bournemouth works in partnership with SwitchedOn Education and the goal of the AFC Bournemouth South Africa Community Football Project is to give learners in South Africa the opportunity to train and be coached by leading UK football coaches.
Graham Hill, member of the AFC Bournemouth English Premier League Football Team said he was excited to be a part of this project and hoped to have the AFC back again next year.
