Community urged to be on the lookout for hijacked CLAW Toyota bakkie

"Our driver was kept in the vehicle and threatened with death several times, although he had only gone to drop off a dog that had been treated and sterilised. We are devastated.”

On Tuesday morning, May 31 CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) reported the hijacking of their white Toyota Hilux double cab at Protea Police Station.

According to Cora Bailey from CLAW the vehicle was hijacked in the morning when they were delivering a dog to its home.

“Our trusted and hardworking Toyota was hijacked this morning between Tshepisong and Kagiso. This vehicle is the one we use to transport our large traps, and also all the sick animals for those who are unable to walk to us. Our driver was kept in the vehicle and threatened with death several times, although he had only gone to drop off a dog that had been treated and sterilised. We are devastated,” said Cora.

When the Record contacted Cora, she was still at the police station and said the incident was very traumatic for the driver who was terrorised for hours.

The community is urged to keep their eyes open so that the vehicle could be recovered quickly.
