Christiaan de Wet Road closed after multi-vehicle collision

The road will be closed for approximately one hour until the scene has been cleared.

A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Christiaan de Wet Road near Clearwater Mall at about 12:00 today, May 31.

A truck travelling from Ontdekkers Road towards Clearwater Mall swerved in front of a car, resulting in two other cars colliding.

According to Herman Coetzee from BCI Security, while taking the turn the truck’s prop shaft broke, which caused the truck driver to lose control of it and crash into another vehicle.

Two people were injured and were transported to Life Flora Hospital for further treatment.

The road will be closed for approximately one hour until the scene has been cleared. “BCI closed the road from Sasol’s side, and Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch closed the road from Wilgerood Road’s side,” explained Coetzee.
