Rand Water Head Office confirmed they have scheduled the planned maintenance work at Vereeniging Water Treatment Plant and Weltevreden Park.
They plan to do the following:
• Tie in the newly installed F46 pipeline to the existing F34 pipeline
• Install a new non-return valve on the pump-set 20 at Vereeniging Water Treatment Plant
The work is planned to take place on Friday, June 3 and will affect the Eikenhof system. The duration of the maintenance work will be 24 hours and during this period, a number of areas in the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) will be affected.
Rand Water has formally issued a 21 days’ notice to the affected municipal customers to allow for appropriate contingency measures to be put in place. CoJ will further advise consumers whether this maintenance work will have an impact on them, and where to access the water tanks.

• Weltevreden high pressure bypass
• Honeydew res 1
• Honeydew
• Little falls
• Parts of Randburg
• Parts of Northcliff
• Randpark Ridge
• Strubens Valley
• Constantia Kloof
• Weltevreden Park
• Horison
• Discovery
• Soweto
• Westonaria
• Kagiso
Rand Water will start pumping water immediately upon completion of this maintenance work. CoJ will advise consumers when water will be fully restored in their respective areas. Rand Water would like to appeal to consumers to continue using water sparingly.
