Local kickboxing club holds first belt grading

A grading is a test that determines whether a kickboxing student is ready to advance to the next rank. Ring Contact Fighting Art (RCFA) Dingoes based in Witpoortjie believe that when something takes effort, dedication, and hard work then its value greatly increases.

RCFA Dingoes held their first belt-grading ceremony since they were established at the beginning of the year.
Learners who graded on the day are Mark Volger, Gail Pieterse, Zjante van Tonder, Jhuandrie Oosthuizen, Arno van Wyk, Rogan Cole, Leo Kelly and Melanie van Wyk.

Fourth Dan Sensei Adri van Wyk told the Record that their main objective and their future plans are to grow the club and participate in upcoming tournaments.
The club started with four junior kickboxers, two seniors and 12 women doing the fitness classes. The gym caters for all ages and skill levels, focusing on ring-contact techniques.
When asked about the benefits of kickboxing, Adri mentioned the importance of self-defence and improving one’s self-confidence as well as keeping fit and healthy.
