Injured motorcyclist taken to hospital after afternoon Jim Fouche accident

The patient in a critical but stable condition.

A man was left critically injured after a collision with a light motor vehicle, May 4.

Honeydew CPF members assisted in closing Jim Fouche Road between Ouhout Avenue and Dale Lace Road for over an hour while emergency responders attended the scene. Reports suggest the motorcyclist was exiting the petrol station in the busy afternoon traffic when he was struck by a vehicle headed toward Beyers Naude Drive.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after 16:30 to find the motorcyclist on the road near his bike, with the second vehicle involved parked on the side of the road. “Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition. The man was treated and provided with advanced life support before being transported to a private hospital for urgent care,” confirmed ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.
