Residents enjoy the outdoors at the Rest ur Ass market

There were stalls and donkeys abound at the Rest ur Ass autumn market on March 26. The market provided the perfect excuse for families and residents to enjoy a day out in the warm weather.

Co-owner of the donkey sanctuary, Albert le Roux explained what the proceeds from the market would be used for. “This is to raise funds for the donkeys and their vet bills. Those specific expenses are very costly and we just picked up eight donkeys. It all goes towards taking care of them.”

Residents were treated to good food, local products and crafts, as well as one-on-one time with the lovely rescues. Yves Djuma and Fabrice Kabemba said, “It’s been a lovely day so far. It’s our first time here and we are having a great time.”
