Members of the Honeydew Police Crime Prevention Unit clamped down on a marijuana cultivating and processing plant on March 11. On the Friday morning, the crime-prevention members received an anonymous tip-off that led them to Jackal Creek Golf Estate.
Inside the residence they discovered an elaborate and expensive set-up of fans, air pipes, air conditioners, artificial sunlight and numerous pots with healthy marijuana plants growing in them. Bags of processed and dried marijuana were also seized during the operation and taken to the exhibit storeroom at the Honeydew Police Station.
Two suspects were arrested and charged with manufacturing and dealing in dagga. Spokesperson for Honeydew Police, Warrant Officer Dave Stanton said, “All anonymous tips the police receive are taken seriously and acted upon timeously. A person’s anonymity is never compromised and I would encourage the public to use our Crime Stop tip-off line 08600 10111 or to call their nearest police station with information.”
