Breast cancer survivors offered a chance to take final step

“We feel that this is the perfect way to give back to a woman who has survived breast cancer, and who has had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery."

50andMe is passionate about all causes but in particular, those that affect women.

One of the causes closest to their hearts is breast cancer, and therefore they are proud to announce the first of many campaigns in support of women who have fought and overcome breast cancer, the Pink Ribbon Ink Campaign.

Radiokop resident and founder Marna Grobler was impacted by her late mother’s experience with breast cancer and mastectomy.

Marna told the Northsider that the Pink Ribbon Ink Campaign is a cause that is very close to her and her team’s hearts.

“We feel that this is the perfect way to give back to a woman who has survived breast cancer and who has had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

“We know that treating breast cancer and breast reconstruction are extremely costly and often survivors cannot afford this final step in the journey.

“50andMe would like to offer one brave survivor a chance to take this final step in her journey,” said Marna.

The Pink Ribbon Ink Campaign Team consists of:

• Marijke Lindeque Schreiber who is the permanent make-up specialist and the Micro-Pigmentation and Paramedical Tattoo Specialist who has donated the 3D Areola Tattoo

• Marna Grobler of Body In Bloom who has donated the Health and Wellness Coaching sessions for all prize-winners
