Top achiever shares her plans for 2022

“My plans for the year include immersing myself in the books, hopefully to be able to reapply and transfer to BVSc, participating in sports, and doing my best to balance all aspects of university."

With six distinctions, Rachel Ross is officially one of the top learners in the class of 2021 in Gauteng.

Rachel who was a learner at Trinityhouse Little Falls will study BScAgric Animal Science with the hopes of transferring to study Veterinary Sciences, and specialise in Wildlife.

Rachel is not only one of the top achievers, she is an inspiration to the rest of the community that dreams do come true if you work hard and never give up.

“My plans for the year include immersing myself in the books, hopefully to be able to reapply and transfer to BVSc, participating in sports, and doing my best to balance all aspects of university.

“The only advice I could give to the class of 2022 is to start with the end in mind, because exams come around faster than you might think.

“Make notes for all minor tests, and keep them together to save time you would have spent on summaries before the exams.

“One of my teachers gave me this advice at the beginning of matric, and it honestly saved me in so many different subjects,” said Rachel.

The Strubens Valley former matriculant told the Northsider that she was very happy with her results, given what a stressful and abnormal year learners had.

“I have, however, applied for a remark for Physical Science, and I am hoping that I can then achieve my full set of seven distinctions.

“I am incredibly proud of all my peers, and I am so grateful to my support structures,” said Rachel.
