Clearview Academy welcomes Grade 1s with traditional bell-ringing ceremony

The bell-ringing ceremony is the traditional welcoming to Clearview Academy as the learners commence their journey at the school.

Many adults can still distinctly remember at least one school tradition from their early schooling years, if not more.

School traditions are special and unique to everyone while building a community among learners and staff to provide a memorable start to a child’s education.

For the Grade 1s and newcomers of Clearview Academy based in Wilgeheuwel the first day of school exceeded all expectations with positive attitudes and enthusiasm from both parents and learners.

According to the school principal, Skip Viljoen the first day back was both successful and exciting as the school welcomed not only new learners, but also the Grade 1s with their traditional bell-ringing ceremony.

The bell-ringing ceremony is the traditional welcoming to Clearview Academy as the learners commence their journey at the school.

The same ceremony takes place at the end of the academic year to bid farewell to the Matric learners before they write their final exams.

“We as Clearview Academy are ready for, and excited about the new school year.

“We accept new enrolments throughout the year based on successful entrance examination outcomes.

“The atmosphere at the school is conducive to learning because it is a small, close-knit school,” said Viljoen.
