The incident occurred at the corner of Corlett Avenue and Strydom Street shortly after 8:00. A light motor vehicle collided with a bakkie that was transporting roughly 20 men, resulting in the bakkie tipping over, flattening a section of the fence. Most of the men escaped the incident without serious harm, with a few requiring attention from first responders.
“Medics assessed the men and found that four had sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found. The men were treated and transported to Leratong Hospital for further care,” confirmed ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
